Fabric 4.6 - Oolitic limestone and sand tempered ware
Fabric details
Bowl
Soft to hard fired fabric with a rough feel and containing quartz sand (<1.0mm) and ooliths (<1.0mm) and/or fargments of oolitic limestone (<10.0mm).
Ranges in colour from black/dark grey to, more commonly, bright orange and beige. Often variegated.

Too little material known for comment but may be wiped and a few examples show traces of burnishing.
Source and distribution
Cotswolds area , GLOUCESTERSHIRE
A minor fabric found in the south Worcestershire area.
Dates
Iron Age (c.400 BC to 100 BC)
Its associations suggest a middle Iron Age date.
